Learning to design a balcony [317]

This inhabitant from Raval neighbourhood in Barcelona suggests us some design aspects rarely considered by architects. Obviously he has a roller blind that is barely visible in the photos, but he has also protected his clothesline from the rain with a stretched plastic, with articulated guides to accommodate the air conditioning evaporator. But the most curious thing is that he is forming an asymmetrical interior space, protected from the north wind by a rigid insulation panel, and completely open to the south, to see the street and allow the sunrays on his clothes. He also takes advantage of the opportunity to convert his railing on a protector panel and as neighbourhood communication panel.
