A grate as solar protection, by Jean Nouvel [479]

In this hotel Jean Nouvel used an industrial grate as continuous façade, and also as solar protection where necessary. Panels pivot on its upper edge to open the space completely and still protect from direct sunray. The grate of the upper floors had been designed with mobile slats, according to the attached detail, but the final solution has fixed blades at 45°.
