Electrical operated louvers in 1956, SEAT dinning room [143]

Jose Ortiz Echagüe, founder of the aircraft company CASA and automobilist SEAT, commissioned the project of a small dining pavilion for SEAT facilities in the “Zona franca” of Barcelona.

Aluminum beams that were usual in aircraft construction (from same owner factory) were used to build the structure. Ailerons as landing gear of the same planes were used as solar protection, pivoting on a vertical or horizontal axis.

This usage of prefabricated materials coming from such a different field than construction, and the use of electronic control was a technological revolution.
