Perraut en Lausanne [245]

Dominic Perrault wrapped the Rolex Learning Center in Lausanne with a GKD metallic mesh, to which he is so devoted. In this case, the metal fabric is fastened into rectangular panels grouped by three, as horizontally sliding leaves. Each of these triple-panels group is inclined outwards or inwards disfiguring the vertical plane of the façade, but it does not seem to obey any functional purpose.

The entrance is emphasized with a spectacular volumetric display of the same triple panels, but in this case they are fixed.

The mesh is a customized design of Escale product, generating rich gradations of transparency and light.
