Historical window in Bath [481]

This is a sash window with large balanced leaves and with a slim appearance of the muntins and frames. Two metallic devices push the leaves up and down to ensure correct sealing.

The protections are reduced to the magnificent interior shutters. They are folding shutters, kept by the jambs when open. As this protection is fragmented into two parts, upper and lower, light can be perfectly controlled so it can be received trough the top or the bottom, direct or reflected.

The weather seems to allow forgetting about solar protection, but an inner curtain will be certainly necessary for some summer situations. It is also important to consider the effect of thermal insulation of closed shutters respect the simple glass.
