Folding-sliding panels with patterned drillings in Berlin [575]

The facades of this residential building are fully coated with a micro-perforated wrapping. These panels are fixed when covering opaque elements and folding-sliding in front of windows and terraces.

The curious thing is that the micro-perforation is made following a pattern that leaves erratic silhouettes as opaque elements. The thinness of the drilling is such that these silhouettes appear to float, as can be seen in some of the pictures. This fact gives the panels an image as if they were serigraph glasses.

Their role as solar protection is not the best, but they obviously are very important in the image of the building and provide enough privacy to the terraces.
